I'm on my 4th year of observing and still can't get enough. I'm married with young three sons. I like to take my family camping and to star parties. I'm a Music Major graduate of Multnomah Bible College. I own and operate a carpet cleaning business. I love to talk astronomy and I especially enjoy showing people objects in my scope and explaining to them what they're seeing. There's a real pleasure in seeing people getting excited and enjoy viewing for the first time.

I enjoy church activities with my family, music, computer games, sports, camping and fishing. I am an active drummer and have been regularly playing in some kind of performance setting since I was a kid. I also play drums for the worship band at my church. I am a worship leader and choir diector and have a strong desire to assist God's people in expressing thier praise to and adoration of God through joyful music.
I also LOVE to go to star parties. My brother and I take our kids and we have a ball. It is such a wondersul exprerience. I especially enjoy the openness of the participants to share what they've found in their scopes, and for me to share what I've found. It's very social.
I am a boxing fan and I enjoy the UFC, Pride and K-1 sports fights as well.
Favorite Sky Object
Hard to choose. So many... well I suppose M13, the Hercules Star Cluster. It was the first Messier object I found on my own and still astounds me everytime I see it. I also love M31, the Andromeda Galaxy. It's just so massive and mind boggling.
Experience: 2-4 Years
Astrophotography: No, I do not take pictures through my telescope
Where I live
Portland (light pollution hell), OR
Comments about where I live
I love this part of the country because the change of seasons are so contrasting. We get a full dose of each season. We do get a lot of rain but that keeps us green and colorful. But for astronomical viewing, it is kinda lame. We get a lot of precipitation through the year, so we don't get a lot of clear skies. Plus, Portland is a city of about a million people so the light pollution is terrible. You've got to drive quite a ways out to get to dark skies. Someday, I'll live in the country and get away from it all! It would be so nice to just pop the scope out in the back yard and show people 14th magnitude objects! here in Portland, we're lucky if we can even get a clear sky- and if we do get clear, we're lucky if we can even see the stars of the Big Dipper through the light pollution.
