About Me
Starting with a 60mm Tasco 9TE telescope when I was a teenager, spent many evenings in our backyard.  Life intruded, as it often does, and other hobbies and interests took center stage, with the old Tasco sitting in its box on a shelf for many years.  The last couple of years have seen my interest in astronomy again on the rise.  I still have the Tasco, but it now has some stablemates:  a 60mm ETX, a homemade motorized barndoor tracker, and a recently-purchased 8" Lightbridge.

I rate myself a complete beginner in this thing...

Photography, primarily landscapes using 4x5 cameras.
Amateur radio.  I devote some of my ham time to the Salem Repeater Association, a nonprofit corporation that exists solely to maintain and operate a series of amateur radio repeaters in the Salem area.  Currently, I am the system operator for SRA's oldest machine, the 146.86 MHz repeater in Salem's west hills.  (146.86 MHz, -600 KHz shift, 186.2 Hz tone)

Favorite Sky Object
The one I'm looking at now.  I'm not sure I know how to choose one over the rest.

Experience: < 1 Year

Astrophotography: Yes, I do take pictures through my telescope
