Welcome to Greg's Online Astronomy Journal.
I'm an electronics engineer and amateur photographer. I have loved astro photos for many years and finally decided to try it myself in 2005. It took until 2008 to get images that I was really happy with.
I'm pretty lazy, so don't expect a lot of updates here!
I'm interested in all kinds of imaging systems. My work has largely been around electronic imaging systems, but I'm also interested in optics and machining. In addition to regular photography and astro-imaging, I also do some stereo photography. I like music, jazz in particular, but have no talent for it at all, so one of my favorite things to photograph is musicians playing.
Favorite Sky Object
M42 (Orion Nebula) was my goal when I started trying to take pictures through a telescope and it still fascinates me.
Experience: 5-10 Years
Astrophotography: Yes, I do take pictures through my telescope
Where I live

Comments about where I live
On those rare nights when the clouds go away I have an unobstructed view in just about every direction. The worst obstruction is my neighbor's house to the northeast, which goes up to maybe 20 degrees elevation. I'm 20 miles north of Portland, so it's darker than where many of my friends live, but the sky glow to the south is still pretty big and bothersome.
