I thought I might get some good seeing for a few hours and proceeded to setup my Celestron CGEM with 9.25" Edge HD OTA along with a Canon XSi camera piggy backing on the OTA. This was my first night since acquiring my equipment to have a chance to try out the mount tracking accuracy, Liveview on the XSi and attempt some widefield photos.

Unfortunately after aligning the mount and hooking up the laptop to the camera, the cloud cover rolled in and I really didn't get much done other than practicing a good polar alignment.

I did discover that I need some really bright object in the field to use Liveview for focusing. With the moon entering waxing crescent this week, I may get a chance to practice on it!

The way the weather has been this year, I think a support group might save a large part of the astrophotography population from insanity!

This.... drives me CRAZY!

All day will be gorgeous.... and all day I'm thinking, "man, I can't WAIT to take my scope out tonight"..... and.... as usual.... the minute I can take my scope out.... the clouds roll in. =/

I feel your pain.... Thinking about starting a support group.
XD
