Finally, a moonless dark night with cooler temperatures. I was able to setup before sunset, take my flats right after and do both the goto align and the polar alignment without any problems.

I had the Hyperstar lens on the 9.25 Edge and used it throughout the evening. By 10pm I decided it was dark enough to start imaging so selected the Eagle Nebula as my first target. I carefully focused using BackyardEOS and found a good guide star in PHD that it calibrated and guided on.

Photos were 2 minute subs at ISO800 with the Canon XSi modified. I took 10 subs and tracking appeared good in all of them.

Here are the results:

My next target was M22 and I used exactly the same acquisition settings in BYE. Stacked in DSS and processed in PS CS2.

Here are the results:

I then tried acquiring the Wild Duck cluster but humidity got to me and the guidescope fogged over and could not track accurately. So that concluded the evening.

Overall, things went very well. I am still concerned that I am getting sharp focus and I don't like the size of the stars in the images. The odd shapes are due to the DSLR in front of the corrector and I don't know if I can do much about it. My next time out I may try taking some pics at prime focus and see how they compare. Exposure times and guiding will have to be spot on though.
