 Finally had a clear night with low humidity and decent winter temperatures for north central Illinois. It was in the 40's and even though it was a moonlight night, just 2 days past full moon, I couldn't resist the opportunity to try capturing the Orion Nebula, M42 for the first time. Here are the results of my endeavors. 
 

 
This is a combination of images acquired at 15 sec and 30 seconds that were combined to try to keep the bright center of the nebula from becoming too bright. Images were processed in Deep Sky Stacker and post processed in Photoshop CS2.
