|A very late night with my brother with some wonderful observations. This was a particularly fun evening because it was the first time my brother and I observed together. he brought his telescope and we looked at Jupiter and we checked out a few M objects in mine.
This was also a particularly fun evening because I was able to extend the knowledge I've gained over the last few months to him. We looked at Jupiter, M3, M13, M53 and I tried to find a few other objects but with no success. The sky was pretty dark as the moon was so low on the horizon it didn't even begin to rise until about 2:30 am.
It was his first time seeing a globular cluster in a telescope and I was thrilled to see his excitement was as rich as mine. We'll observe again soon and I'm looking forward to learning where more objects in the sky are.
This night I also was able to identify 2 constellations that I hadn't known previously: Bootes and Hercules. I'm not sure I would be able to identify them in a rich dark sky, but in my quasi light-polluted sky I can definitely find them regularly now.
